Unknown Object

Hi, I have a liturgical object that I would like to identify. First, I thought it's some kind of thurible but there are no holes on it to allow the incense to go out. Here is a link to the image of the object: http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv274/kardinalisimo/Thurible/1.jpg

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

If this item is hollow it may be a pome.  That was a sphere filled with hot water that stood on the Altar for the Priest to warm his hands of so he did not drop the chalice.

The name 'pome' comes from the French for apple.

It looks like an old spirit burner, It all depends on what the inside is like or contains

It looks to me as if the object in question has holes for the perfume of the incense to escape....Try a Buddhist Temple .. only a suggestion.

First, if you don't know what it is, how do you know it's a liturgical object?
Second, could you describe more accurately the object - its size, whether the two cup like objects fit together tightly and whether they fit within the pot?

Hi,
First of all, thanks for all the answers.
Rick Savage, I am not completely sure it's a liturgical object but that is what it looks like to me that's why I ask for any opinions.
I think it's not a burner because there are no holes plus the inside looks pretty preserved with no signs of burning.
Anyway, here are more pictures of the objects that might help identifying it:

Thanks you once again and I apologize if it turns not to be church related object!
