Stations of the Cross
Our "Stations" were removed and temporarily replaced during Lent by a set of modern line-drawn ones. When replaced the originals were repositioned beginning on the North side with "Jesus is condemned to death". Was this correct or should the series begin on the South wall ??

At my parish Chruch we commence on the North side with the 'Jesus condemed to death' station, then continue up the north isle and down the south isle finishing at the 14th station.

My understanding is that the Stations should commence on the North side.
Perhaps this is because penitential processions generally go that way around
the church in contrast to festival processions that use the centre aisle and
then proceed clockwise?
I note that in Buckfast Abbey, the Stations commence on the South side.

North
wall to start Stations is correct.

I was in Edinburgh earlier in the week and calling in at Old St Paul's
church, I noticed that their Stations of the Cross start on the epistle side
(south equivalent). Perhaps there are no hard and fast rules.
