Purple Cassock
|
6/2/06 My husband is a server at his local church and a member of the GSS and he is having great trouble finding a purple cassock online for Lent and Advent. Any ideas, please? |

The cassock is an under garment and is not used to denote the colour of the season; the priest's vestments do that. Some might think that only a bishop wears a purple cassock; a Queen's canon, a red cassock, &c. In churches where it is the tradition for servers to use coloured cassocks, they usually revert to black ones during Advent and Lent and at Requiems. |

can provide a cassock in an assortment of colours including Dark Purple (Violet) or Light Purple. I had a new cassock and surplice from them last week, beautifully made and efficient service as always. |
