Whilst writing an article about the Catholic Societies for my parish 
magazine, I found myself wondering when the Guild was founded. Would 
anyone be able to tell me, please?

The Guild was formed in December 1898. Can I draw your attention to page 4 in the Autumn 2004 edition of The Server which deals with the first five years of the Guild's life. If you do not have access to the magazine I can email you a copy of the article.
