Catholic Marriage

17/9/06 My stepdaughter has recently married in a Anglican high church now she has been told she can no longer take communion in her own
catholic church - ( why) it is not wrong we are of the same faith. Can someone help on this? |

I assume you mean Roman Catholic. If so yes we are all Christians, but the Roman Church does not let others receive
communion. Anglican and Roman are not the same faith. |

I understand that as your stepdaughter has married outside of the Roman catholic church
ie:Anglican. she has reneged on her Roman catholic faith. She should have married in a Roman
church. therefore she has been excomunicated. |

Perhaps the Roman Catholics feel she has deserted them by marrying in an Anglican church. We all know that the Roman church does not give Holy Communion to anyone who is not Roman Catholic. |

It would seem to depend on WHO YOU ARE. Tony Blair has received communion
at a number of RC church in this company AND in the Vatican. Although the CofE is in DIALOGUE with both the ROMAN and Orthodox churches, it is NOT
in COMMUNION therefore Anglicans cannot expect to receive the sacrament from
these Churches. The question of the step-daughter not being admitted to communion
and the other sacraments is a matter that should be discussed with THEIR
hierachy. |
