VICTOR
LENNOX WALMSLEY 1920-2006
The Epiphany Chapter was
sad to learn that Victor Walmsley had passed away in hospital on the evening
of Saturday 23rd December 2006. Victor had been in hospital during
the past few weeks during which he had an operation at St. Georges Tooting.
He was then transferred
to the Queen Elizabeth's Hospital in Woolwich where he passed away, Fr. Tom
Steven's a retired priest of St. Michael's was at his bedside.
Victor joined the Guild
as a probationer with the Epiphany Chapter on 15th March 1962 at St.
Augustine South Croydon where he was a Server. On 23rd April 1963 he was
admitted as a full member at St. Michael's West Croydon. He was on the Chapter
Committee during the years 1977 to 1980 and became a life member of the Guild
during the period 1969/70. During most of his membership years Victor
was a Server at St. Augustine South Croydon, and then at St. Michael's West
Croydon where he regularly assisted at their Fridays' 1.15pm service.
Victor was a faithful member of the Guild and regularly attended Chapter
meetings up to March 2006. Due to failing health and poor eyesight and
hearing however he gave up serving at St. Michael's early in 2006.
May he rest in peace and
rise in glory
