Dr Bernard Ernest Dawson PhD CChem FRSC FKC He became a server at All Saints
Southend in 1931.
He joined the GSS in 1938.
He was evacuated to Mansfield in Nottinghamshire and served regularly at St.
Mark's church with Fr Hutchinson. On being called up, he found membership of the
GSS very helpful, especially during his time in the RAF, when in India.
His career was as a Senior lecturer in Chemistry Education at King's College
London
With his marriage to Irene Isaac in 1957 they had many valuable experiences in
visiting places of pilgrimage together.
He continued to serve at All Saints and was Churchwarden from 1961 to 1990.
He was an active member of the Church Union and a member of Forward in Faith
Latterly he worshipped at St. Luke Prittlewell.
He died on September 5th 2009 and his funeral Mass which was attended by several
members of Corpus Christi chapter was on October 14th. The celebrant was Fr.
