THE HOLY GRAIL CHAPTER MEETING SEPTEMBER 10th 2002
The Holy Grail Chapter held its first meeting of the autumn at St Mary's
Apsley on 10 September. Fr David Lawson celebrated the Mass after the Guild Office. 

After the service, the chapter bade farewell to Eric Bolton who has
been one of our Cantors for the last 19 years. He was presented with a book token and card. Ann Covington (standing directly in front of the cross) was admitted as a probationer to the Guild. The picture shows Ann standing next to Eric (purple cassock) who is by Robert Snelling the Chapter Secretary.

LICHFIELD SERVERS FESTIVAL - SEPTEMBER 2001 

Once again an extremely joyful and uplifting day. The Preacher was Bishop Andrew Burnham, Bishop of Ebbsfleet.
After the Festival, Roy Cresswell, Secretary-General of the GSS and organiser of the Festival since its beginning in 1956, was presented with a cheque in recognition of his work for the Festival and to mark his recent 80th Birthday. Our congratulations to Roy.

GLASTONBURY PILGRIMAGE - JULY 7th 2001 

Despite a traffic jam on the M5 which delayed the arrival of many pilgrims by over 60 minutes, I am sure all present had a most enjoyable and uplifting day. The weather was good despite the forecasts.

PORTSMOUTH CHAPTER CENTENARY, JUNE 9th 2001 
The Portsmouth Chapter Celebrate their Centenary with the Chaplain General and the Secretary General. During the Guild Office the replacement banner in the picture was dedicated to replace the 97 year old original still in use

ST. JOHN THE DIVINE, LEICESTER,  CHAPTER MEETING - June 20th 2001
The Chapter hosted a celebration of Corpus Christi at St. Peter's, Highfields, Leicester on Wednesday 20 June.

The Chapter is endeavouring to establish this as an annual event in the Diocese.

The Celebrant was Fr. Alan Hawker and the preacher was Fr. Philip O'Reilly.

ST. FRIDESWIDE, SLOUGH, CHAPTER MEETING - June 20th 2001 at ETON COLLEGE
The Chapter of St Frideswide celebrated the Solemn Guild Office and Solemn Te Deum in Eton College Chapel on Wednesday 20 June.

The Officiant at the Office was Fr Ivan Randall and the chapter cantors took part. The College choir sang the Magnificat in Latin to a setting by Vittoria and the O Sacrum Convivium by Thomas Tallis.

The solemn Te Deum Laudamus was sung by all to traditional Anglican chants by Lauder, Cutler and Ley.

The College entertained the Chapter of St Frideswide, visitors and friends to an excellent buffet supper.

A picture of the robed Guild members and Clergy is attached. The picture was taken within the Chapel Quadrangle by kind permission of the Provost and Fellows of Eton College. The Chapter express their appreciation of this gesture.

ST. FRIDESWIDE, SLOUGH, CHAPTER MEETING - May 18th 2001
St Frideswide Chapter made a return visit to St Paul's Church,Egham Hythe after an interval of about 20 years.
Brother Chris Mungal was admitted as a member to the Guild
The guild office was sung with Fr David Reynish as Officiant and an address given by the Vicar of St Paul's. The chapter were joined by member of the Holy Grail Chapter and the Chapter of the Incarnate Word.
Our thoughts were directed to consider our closeness to Our Lord when serving in the sanctuary by the attached picture which was given to all those present.

50 YEAR PRESENTATION TO COUNCILLOR LEN CANTERBURY

Hon. Councillor Len Canterbury, who has held most offices within the Chapter and represented PG9 as Group Councillor is the third member of the Chapter to complete fifty years membership. At the AGM in January, the Lay Chairman presented him with an illuminated certificate to mark this significant achievement. In his introduction, Brother Hignell thanked Len for all the time and effort that has been eagerly given to the Chapter and Guild. Despite suffering ill health for some time, Len is still a very active member of the Chapter.

AUTUMN FESTIVAL - TEWKESBURY ABBEY  - OCTOBER 14th 2000

The Guild Autumn Festival was held at Tewkesbury Abbey on Saturday 14th October 2000

Hundreds of members and supporters gathered at Tewkesbury Abbey for the Autumn Festival on October 14th 2000.
Solemn Eucharist at 12 noon was followed at 3 p.m. with Guild Office, Address by the Vicar of Tewkesbury Abbey,  Procession & Benediction. 
It was a happy and uplifting day enjoyed by all present.

LEICESTER CHAPTER 25th ANNIVERSARY - SEPTEMBER13th 2000

The Leicester Chapter celebrated the 25th anniversary of the re-forming of the Chapter.

Area Councillor Terry Doughty with other members who initiated the the re-forming of the Chapter 25 years ago, after the meeting at St. Paul's, Leicester on September 13th 2000. St. Paul's is where the first meeting was held but is due to be closed and demolished.

The May meeting was presided over by Fr Michael Silver at his church in Letchworth. The Chapter celebrated the 40th anniversary of Derrick Silver's membership of the Guild. Fr Silver is Derrick's son but as he stated in his homily it seems strange that he (Derrick) calls me Father and I call him Brother!
 
A party was held at the Silver's home after the Guild Office and Benediction had been sung. Derrick said he owes his serving all to his teacher Brother Ron Pike who played the organ at the Office. Ron is the Chairman of this chapter and the PG Councillor was there to add his congratulations

 
70 Years a member!!
Brother Gordon Laing of St. Joseph of Arimathaea Chapter, Portsmouth completed 70 years membership of the Guild in May. Congratulations and well done
